Artists who are women, BIPOC, and/or queer are systemically underfunded and underrepresented.

We work to counteract these inequities through curation, commissions, and creative development

Curation

We team up with institutions, brands, and other non-profits to curate exhibitions that showcase queer, BIPOC, and marginalized artists.

#girlgaze: a frame of mind

We intervened to ensure this exhibition, the first time the Annenberg Space for Photography focused on female photographers, included trans photographers and photographers of color.

Commissions

We pair corporate sponsors with underrepresented artists, providing them with industry-standard paid commissions while advocating for their creative independence.

White artists make millions appropriating aesthetics from BIPOC artists whose work remains unseen and unfunded.

Cheers Queers

We commissioned artists to design Effen’s Pride bottle stickers — for queers celebrating Pride at home during Covid.

 • If we only ever look at the world through the eyes of straight white male artists, we’ll never see the whole picture. This in turn perpetuates the problem because it's hard to be what you cannot see.

Creative Development

We cultivate in house programs to support emerging and mid career artists, and produce our own exhibitions, anthologies, and public engagement opportunities.

And we do so much more!
